UBC Library works with many institutional stakeholders, including UBC Advanced Research Computing (ARC), UBC Office of Research Ethics, UBC IT, and the UBC Office of Research Services, to provide institution-wide solutions for improving data management practices, particularly in response to emerging Tri-Agency requirements for data management planning.
Data management plans (DMPs) are a key requirement of the Tri-Agency Research Data Management Policy. The policy outlines the steps the Tri-Agency will take to incorporate DMPs into grant applications beginning in the spring of 2022. The policy also requires institutions to outline how they will support research data and researchers. UBC is in the process of developing its institutional plan.
UBC Library actively participates in research data management initiatives with the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL), Compute Canada, COPPUL, OCUL, Research Data Canada, NDRIO/NOIRN, DataCite and others.
